for verification of facts

Dear Petro Oleksiyovych,

The Holy Dormition Pochayiv Lavra has received information that certain persons are being trained to seize buildings and property of the Holy Dormition Pochayiv Lavra. As it became known to us, in the nearest future a series of provocations is being planned on the territory of Lavra, including bringing in firearms marked "DNR" and "LNR", which must be further found and used by provocateurs to justify the call for the seizure of Lavra. Besides, a forceful seizure of the Monastery is planned by attracting a large number of people, brought by bus to the Monastery at a fixed time and reinforced by power structures of NGOs that should provoke conflict, including by violent clashes.

Please note that according to Art. 113 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, sabotage - committing, for any purpose prejudicial to the State, setting off explosions, fires, or committing other actions for the purposes of mass destruction of people, or causing bodily injuries or any other harm to their health, or destruction or damaging of important industrial or defense facilities, and also committing, for the same purposes, actions to cause radioactive pollution or mass poisoning, or to advance an epidemic, epizootic, or epiphytic diseases, - is a criminal offence.

The monastery complex of the Holy Dormition Pochayiv Lavra is an architectural monument of national importance, and has exceptional importance for the state. Making provocations around the monastery will lead to interconfessional enmity and entail destabilization of the situation in the country with unpredictable consequences.

Based on the above, PLEASE: verify the facts set out and take action to prevent provocations.
