First graduates-theologians take final exams at the Classic University of Zaporozhye
May 17, final state exams took place at the Department of Orthodox Theology of the Classic Private University, reports the press service of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Zaporozhye Diocese.
According to members of the examination board, successful examination performance and obtaining a state diploma does not just turn theology into a profession and increases the number of Orthodox theologians, but opens up new prospects for Orthodoxy in the world.
"A profession of theologian must become popular in today's society. Four years ago, when the Ministry of Education issued a license to the CPU, the first Ukrainian university, for teaching an academic discipline "theology", the first attempt to integrate religious education, theology, in secular sphere," said the Archbishop Luka of Zaporozhye and Melitopol, which headed the examination board.
Bishop also congratulated the graduates and noted that the Orthodox theologian is a future career option.
