Festival of disabled youth held by UOC Diocese of Vinnitsa

At the end of May, II Ukrainian song festival-contest "Golden Bird" for children and youth with disabilities was held in Vinnitsa, reports the website of the diocese.

The competition was attended by 19 young people of two age categories: 10-15 years and 16-23 years. They represent different regions of Ukraine, in particular, Volyn, Ivano-Frankovsk, Transcarpathian, Kharkov and Vinnitsa regions, Kirovograd, Sumy, Poltava, Kharkov and Kiev.

Metropolitan Simeon of Vinnitsa and Bar awarded two nominal cash prizes to participants of the festival. Bishop thanked all the participants and noted that among those who sang on the stage that day, there are a lot of talents who deserve to perform on the biggest and best scenes of Ukraine and Europe. Metropolitan Simeon wished the festival-contest "Golden Bird" further success, its organizers and participants – inspiration and God's blessing.

The contest ended with a gala concert/ which took place at Sadovsky Regional Academic Ukrainian Music and Drama Theatre of Vinnitsa. During the concert, the winners were awarded. They received not only cash prizes, but also an opportunity to develop and demonstrate their creative abilities at the international level. First-place winners in their age categories will represent Ukraine at the XX International Song Festival of disabled youth "Ciechocinek Artistic Impressions 2016", which will be held in July in the city of Ciechocinek (Poland).
