In Kolosovaya the unknown in camouflage and balaclavas seized UOC church
Today, in the village of Kolosovaya the unknown in camouflage uniforms came to the church of the UOC and cut the locks. The parishioners believe that their church is going to transfer to the Kiev Patriarchate. Today was announced the court's decision on the re-registration of the religious community of the village, reports a UOJ correspondent.
"The Lviv Administrative Court rejected the appeal of the religious community, which considered illegal to change its jurisdiction from the UOC to UOC-KP, – commented the lawyer. – However, there is no decision on the transfer of the Church of St. John the Evangelist to anyone at the moment. Therefore, someone who cuts the locks or in any other way prevents the believers to serve in the church violates the law. We, in our turn, prepared a complaint to be filed to the Constitutional Court."
"The parishioners tried to prevent people in camouflage from cutting the locks of the church, – says senior priest Anatoly Simora. – But they wouldn’t listen. It is not easy to argue with armed men."
The confronting of the UOC community of Kolosovaya village with those who wanted to take possession of their church began when the chairman of the Ternopil Regional State Administration Stepan Barna decided to transfer the UOC parish to the UOC-KP. It happened on August 28, 2015. Since then, the faithful have not abandoned their attempts to regain their status.
