Unfortunately, new widows appeared in our country a: women who lost their husbands because of the hostilities in the east of Ukraine. It is considered a grave sin to offend a widow or an orphan. We help them both spiritually and financially," noted the head of the Synodal Department of the UOC for Relations with the armed forces of Ukraine and other military formations Metropolitan Augustine of Belaya Tserkov and Boguslavsk.

"The prayer was attended by 50 families of fallen soldiers. We welcome all the concerned who would like to lift prayers with us and ask God for peace in our land," said the chairman of the sector responsible for the care of combatants at the Synodal Military Department of the UOC Archpriest Viacheslav Yakovenko.

After the service, the guests watched a performance of the participants of St. George Orthodox international festival of culture and creativity, and could taste soldier's dishes.
