Cross Procession-2016: nearly 5 thousand believers left the Pochaev Lavra
Today, on the 9th of July at 6 a.m. the Cross Procession in behalf of peace, love, and prayer for Ukraine began from the Holy Dormition Pochaev Lavra. The Procession is led by Metropolitan of Ternopol and Kremenets Sergiy (Gensitskiy), Father Superior of the Holy Dormition Pochaev Lavra, Metropolitan Vladimir (Moroz), and vicar of Ternopol diocese, rector of Pochaev Theological Academy Serafim (Zaliznytskiy).
According to the organizers, nearly 5.000 pilgrims participate in the Cross Procession. They came to the Lavra on the eve of the event beginning. Among them there are a lot of married couples with children. The faithful are praying for peace in Ukraine.
Today’s itinerary of the Procession is calculated for 17 km. The first pit-stop is supposed to take place on Berezhany curve, Kremenets being a final destination for today.
