Bishop Clement (Vecheria): the task of the authority – to ensure the law-abiding citizens could freely pray

Believers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, as peaceful law-abiding citizens, are entitled in their country to carry out religious services freely and without hindrance. This was stated by the head of the Information and Education Department of the UOC Bishop Clement of Irpen, said the Information and Education Department of the UOC.

"This right is guaranteed to them by the Constitution as the basic law of our state. If some radically-mended armed groups openly threaten peace and tranquility in the society, then law enforcement officers have a wide arsenal of means to ensure that bandits have been blocked," said the bishop.

At the same time, Bishop Clement said that the UOC has always called for a peaceful solution to the problems of the Ukrainian society. "However, to do so that people walk through the capital without the threat of their lives is the direct responsibility of the state authority," he said.
