Icon myrrhs in UOC church of Kiev diocese

In the Olshansky convent in honor of the icon of the mother of God "Joy and Consolation", a usual paper image of recently canonized St. Gabriel (Urgebadze) started myrrhing during a service at the cathedral church of the convent, as reported on the website of the convent.

After the prayer service, the sisters and pilgrims were anointed with fragrant myrrh, which streamed from the image just onto the tray, on which the icon stood.

The shrine was brought by the rector of the Kiev metochion of the Kiev monastery of St. Panteleimon on mount Athos Fr Alexiy (Korsak). He also led the prayer, followed by the vigil the day before Sunday.

As reported, the myrrh-streaming from the image occurs only during the prayer, and for a short time of prayer in the church in honor of icon of Mother of God "Joy and Consolation" there was so much myrrh that it had to be poured into a separate vessel which was given to the convent as a gift.
