UOC dioceses offered donation for the destitute and schoolchildren from orphanages (PHOTO, VIDEO)
Odessa and Kremenchug dioceses of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church provided its assistance to the destitute, while Kiev and Voznesensk diocese held an action to collect school pack for orphans and children from disadvantaged families. It is reported by the Information and Education Department of the UOC.
On August 26 the Coordination Social Aid Center of Odessa diocese has once again held a humanitarian action. Over 300 people received food and money. Among the beneficiaries were displaced persons from eastern regions of Ukraine, disabled persons of I and II groups, disadvantaged retired people and multi-child families.
Metropolitan of Odessa and Ismail Agafangel appealed to all residents of Odessa region to take part in a good deed, since the amount of the people who come to the Coordination Center to seek help is steadily rising.
On August 29 the Humanitarian Center of Kremenchug diocese offered its assistance to the low-income Marusiak family. According to the Center Coordinator Archdeacon Viktor Dudnichenko, unknown charity givers agreed to purchase a new house for the family with better accommodation. The Humanitarian Center allocated finds for the family for repair works in the new house and personal hygiene items for new-born girl Alina. The Marusiak family’s children are currently situated in a board school of Novossanzhar district, since the family cannot maintain them financially.
On August 29 a charitable action “Orphan’s Schoolbag” came to an end, held by the Department for Family Matters of Kiev diocese and led by its Chairman Archpriest Oleg Melnichuk. Churches of Goloseyevo deanery of the capital took part in the action.
Voznesensk eparchy organized an charitable action for schoolchildren “Get a Child Ready for School-2016”. The eparchy’s Missioner Department raised funds to provide children from low-income families with school pack.
