If man lives outside Christ, he may think he is useful but is actually harmful to the world – UOC Primate

In his floor on the first academic day, September 1st, His beatitude Metropolitan of Kiev and All Ukraine called the students of theological schools of Kiev to conceive truth with particular self-concentration and patience. It is reported by the UOC Information and Education Department.

“You’re starting a new academic year and facing a main task – to conceive truth. This truth is embodied in Jesus Christ,” he noted.

Vladyka emphasized that only a human who lives with Christ and in Christ can find its vocation and bring benefit to the world. “If man lives outside Christ, he may think himself to be useful, but in fact he is not useful and even harmful to the world,” said His Beatitude.

One has their own way of conceiving the truth, which requires patience and efforts not only when acquiring knowledge, but also in having the right lifestyle. “We approach the truth as long as our knowledge matches our life, our ethics, continued Metropolitan Onuphry. – Therefore, a theological student is the person who enriches his mind and at the same time learns to live in the right way and commit right deeds.

His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry wished everybody mercy from God in that. “You, young men, are students of theological schools. But all of us are students of a big theological school – an earthly life,” he concluded.
