Prayer against draft law # 4128 began near the Parliament of Ukraine (PHOTO)

In the morning of October 5, parishioners of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church gathered near the Verkhovna Rada for standing in prayer. The believers express their concern about draft law # 4128, which – in case of being adopted – can make church raiding legitimate.

Despite numerous critical comments, the notorious draft law was included in the Parliament’s agenda for October 6.

Experts believe the document is going to create confusion around the distinction between the notions of religious and municipal communities and enable those, who are remote from the religious life, to have a serious influence on it.

The draft law was also condemned by human rights organizations in Europe.

On October 5 at 11 a.m. representatives of the Churches are going to tell about adverse implications caused by the new developments at the press-conference “Threat to the religious community of Ukraine: why Churches request MPs not to vote for draft law # 4128.”
