UOC community in Chudnitsa village wins once more against Kiev Patriarchate in court
Actually, members of the Kiev Patriarchate initiated the fight for the house in the church yard once the temple had been seized. In January 2015 Krasnoselsk village council, including also Chudnitsa village of Goshcha district, issued a permit to a newly founded KP community to prepare land management documents on the church building and residential house.
The human rights activist of Rovno diocese on examining the issue, in his turn, lodged a suit with the Administrative Court on revoking an unlawful decision of the village council.
“At that moment the UOC believers did not have necessary documents to prove their right of ownership to the church property. Being aware of this fact, the village council merely took advantage of the situation. Therefore, I dug out all possible archives, found the construction team, the land maintenance decision dating back to the 90s – all these artifacts were a considerable contribution to the case and at present the house belongs to those who built it,” comments the human rights defender.
