Security Service of Ukraine thanks UOC for assistance in freeing Taras Kolodiy
Advisor to the Chairman of the Security Service of Ukraine Yuriy Tandit thanked the Ukrainian Orthodox Church on behalf of the Chairman of the Security Service of Ukraine Vasyl Hrytsak.
"I would like to personally thank all those who took part in this operation. Valyl Hrytsak expresses his gratitude to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church for their support and for what they have done," said the advisor to the Chairman of the SSU.
Yuriy Tandit said that during the meeting of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations in Kramatorsk, the Chairman of the Security Service of Ukraine Vasyl Hrytsak through Metropolitan Augustine of Belotserkovsk and Boguslav requested the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufriy to assist in the liberation of Ukrainian hostages.
"I can say that this release was made possible thanks to the intervention and assistance of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufriy held talks with representatives of the UOC, including those who are in Donetsk," he said.
He also noted that the Security Service hopes that the Ukrainian Orthodox Church will continue to help the public authorities to release the hostages from captivity.
"There is no policy and no manipulation here. Once again, I want to thank all those involved in the release of Taras and continue to free other guys. Of course, we will do everything that depends on us to continue to set free our hostages," said Yuriy Tandit.
As the UOJ reported earlier, the clergy of the UOC helped liberate from captivity "cyborg" Taras Kolodiy.
