Primate of the Russian Church: UOC is a peacekeeping force with the only true position

The Ukrainian Orthodox Church is a peacekeeping force which holds the only true position. It was said by Patriarch of Moscow and all Rus Kirill in the interview with TV channel “Russia 1”, as it is reported by RIA News.

According to the Patriarch, there has been retained the potential in Ukraine to “peacekeeping, creating a fair and peaceful life.” It is proven by the All-Ukrainian Procession held in July, as well as release of Ukrainian war captive Taras Kolodiy in December 2016 with the assistance of the Church, who was captured on 21 January 2016 at Donetsk airport.

“We have always been one nation, and then our people went to different apartments. Yet we remain those who are united by the same faith, history and values. We should do our best to prevent hostility and negative attitude in our hearts namely to the citizens,” said the Patriarch and added the Church caters for the cause of reconciliation between nations.

“It’s important that mass media give coverage of the Ukrainian subject matter in a way that there wouldn’t be any bias against Ukraine,” he noted.
