Chaplains and seminarians of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church have visited more than ten hot spots in the ATO zone. A UOJ film crew accompanied the priests.

Three chaplain and ten seminarians took part in the mission led by Metropolitan Augustine of Bila Tserkva and Boguslav, head of the Synodal Department of the UOC for Relations with the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations in the country.

The clergy of the UOC brought the military men in the ATO zone humanitarian aid, including medical supplies, domestic appliances and Christmas greetings.

The mission was launched on January 10 and covered Sviatogorsk, Avdeevka, Mariinka, Krasnogorovka, Slaviansk, Bakhmut, Kurakhovo and Yasinovataya district.

A UOJ correspondent reports that they had to live in harsh field conditions, to sleep in a basement on the floor. At the same time chaplains, going to the hottest spots, to the front line, left the journalists behind because they did not want to risk their lives.

Metropolitan Augustine stressed that chaplains are working closely with the state and the itinerary was previously agreed with the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and ATO Headquarters.
