The Pope calls to restore ecclesiastic unity to solve terrestrial problems

In his January video address the Roman Pontific urged Christians to pray for the restoration of the church unity, “responding to challenges the humanity is facing.” It is reported by the Vatican Radio.

“Let’s pray for all Christians so that, being faithful to God’s Teachings, they could strive with prayer and fraternal love to restore full ecclesiastic unity by cooperating with one another to solve pressing issues of the humanity,” the address says.

The Pope gave his positive assessment of the cooperation among Christians from various Churches in the social service cause. In conclusion, the Pontific called on Christians to pray in order for “all people, with their prayers and fraternal love, to contribute to the restoration of the church unity, responding to challenges the humanity is facing.”

Earlier Patriarch Kirill made a statement that cooperation of the Russian Church with Catholics excludes any compromises on dogmatic issues.
