Schismatics report about the meeting with representatives of Constantinople Patriarchate

On 15 January 2017 the site of the Kiev Patriarchate announced about the purported meeting of the UOC KP delegation and members of the Constantinople Patriarchate Commission on the autocephaly issue in Ukraine.

By the information of the Kiev Patriarchate’s official site, the meeting took place at Phanar, an official residence of Constantinople Patriarchate Bartholomew. The Constantinople Patriarchate was reportedly represented by Metropolitan of Smyrna Bartholomew and Metropolitan of Galle Emmanuel, as well as secretary of the Commission on Inter-Orthodox Relations father Ambrosius. However, the meeting has not been confirmed by Phanar so far.

According to the site, members of the KP delegation complained about “destructive actions of the Moscow Patriarchate” and noted the UOC KP has been striving “to restore a canonical order by means of establishing one local church in Ukraine.” The UOC KP delegation expressed a hope that “the Mother-Church will do its best for the necessary decisions to be accepted as soon as possible.”

Additionally, the representatives of the church split in Ukraine underscored that the Kiev Patriarchate “unlike the ROC acceded to the decisions of the Holy and Great Council of the Orthodox Church, held in June last year in the Crete Island.”

Earlier the Kiev Patriarchate chief said that “the decisions of the Crete Council do not matter a lot.”
