SBU begins searches of UOJ journalists

The State Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) got interested in the UOJ activity. On 25 January one of the site journalists was visited by the SBU investigators and shown a search warrant.

In fact, there was searched one of the most active UOJ correspondents, whose materials on church raiding in western Ukraine (for instance, reports on the discrimination of the UOC community in Ptichya village) have become famous not only in our country, but evoked public response also abroad.

The UOJ journalist was expropriated two data storage media and two hand note-books with contact phones.

The UOJ follows the developments and will appeal to international human rights organizations for their assistance, if it emerges the incident above is an attempt of the power to put pressure on mass media.
