Ukrainian military rever the Pochaev Lavra sanctities

On 26 February, on the eve of the Lent, the Pochaev Lavra of the Holy Dormition was visited by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) who are currently having special tactic trainings at Rovno-based combined arms polygon. It is reported by the UOC Information and Education Department.

The soldiers had a possibility to talk to seminarians of Pochaev Theological School, who organised a sightseeing tour for the Lavra guests. During their pilgrimage the Ukrainian warriors revered the monastery's sanctities: the miraculous icon of Pochaev Mother of God, Holy Virgin's Foot and incorruptible relics of the Venerable Fathers.

The Lavra's bretheren supplied every service man with an icon, holy water and prosphora (holy bread).

Upon the end of the Liturgy seminarians of Theological School treated their guests with a tasty lunch.

When the meal was over the military visited Pochaev skete (a small monastery) where they could rever its sanctities and got familiar with the skete's household.

At the end of the trip the top militaries expressed their wish to have pilgrimages to the shrine also in the future.
