Poroshenko asked to grant the main schismatic of the country Hero of Ukraine

On 1 March, deputies of the Verkhovna Rada registered draft resolution № 6153 on awarding the head of the Kyiv Patriarchate Filaret the title of Hero of Ukraine.

A draft resolution was registered on the parliament website, but the text of the document is not yet published.

According to the procedure, the honorary title is granted by his decree the President, so the deputies want to turn to Petro Poroshenko with this initiative.

The authors of the resolution are 22 deputies from the "Petro Poroshenko Bloc", "People’s Front" and independent MPs.

As reported by the UOJ, President Poroshenko said that the prayers of Filaret encouraged him to "victory over the enemy".
