On April 15 clerics of UOC bring Holy Fire to Ukrainian believers

On April 15 at 19.00 - 20.00 (approximate time of arrival), the airport "Boryspil" will meet the Holy Fire, which will be brought from Jerusalem by the official delegation of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, reports the Information and Education Department of the UOC.

On arrival, the chairman of the official delegation, the Chancellor of the UOC, Metropolitan Anthony (Pakanich) of Boryspil and Brovary is planned to make a briefing.

On April 15, in the airport hall for official delegations, the Holy Fire will be given to the clergy for further delivery to the dioceses of Ukraine.

At 23.00 in the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kiev and All Ukraine will share the Holy Fire with thousands of believers who will come to the Easter Vigil.

On Holy Saturday, Christians around the world are looking forward to a miracle that occurs annually at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem on Great Saturday, the day preceding Orthodox Easter, – the descent of the Holy Fire. According to the ancient tradition, the annual miraculous fire which emanates in the Holy Land is believed to be a sign of the Lord’s grace and care and gives believers the hope that God prolongs the existence of the world for another year.
