National Council issues warnings to two TV channels for using bad language

The National Council for Television and Radio Broadcasting recorded the use of bad words and expressions on the air of the STB and the New Channel, reports Liga.net with reference to the press service of the regulator.

As reported, on the air of the STB vulgar words were recorded in the announcements of the "MasterChef. Children" programs and in the special project of "Vіkna" – "Neighbours", on the Novy channel – in the announcements of the programs «Від пацанки до панянки» ("From a tomboy to a lady"), in the announcement on casting for the next season of the project "From a tomboy to a lady" and "Hearts of the three".

Violations were fixed between April 24 and 26.

The National Council noted that the announcements of the projects were published both in the morning and in the daytime when they are available for viewing by young spectators.

"Given that the broadcasts and their announcements using bad language can damage the intellectual and spiritual development of children, the National Council draws the attention of TV and radio organizations to the need for strict compliance with the legislation and recalls the obligation to comply with the time-sharing requirements for the distribution of broadcasts and programs that can harm the physical, intellectual and spiritual development of minors and youth," says the report.

The National Council asks broadcasters to give careful consideration to compliance with the requirements of the legislation on public morality and the protection of minors.

Earlier, the State Agency for Movie banned the distribution and demonstration of the film "Oles Buzina: Life Beyond Time."
