Informational throw-in against the UOC is not long now, – Archpriest Nikolay Danilevich
The DECR head wrote on his Facebook page: it is planned to show that the UOC is allegedly not the most numerous confession of the country, that it allegedly loses its parishioners and poses a danger to the state.
"This information I had already a few days ago, but today one kind of stuff of this type has already been seen in electronic media. This is done by certain forces in order to protect themselves from possible accusations from international institutions in discriminating against the largest religious organization of Ukraine, "Danilevich stressed.
These forces, the clergyman asserts, are looking for opportunities to further discredit our Church and will seek out materials for scandals. This is done to justify in the eyes of internal and external forces attempts to pressure the UOC. "Like, look at what they are, they (UOC) cannot be protected, they should be pressed down," the priest said.
As reported by the UOJ, earlier the Ukrainian Orthodox Church confirmed the status of the largest confession of the country: 39% of believers are its parishioners. Such data were shown by the survey "Religious Life of Ukraine (September 2016)", which was presented by the sociological company "Ukrainian Sociology Service".
