Uniate priest accuses Metropolitan Mieczyslav Mokshitsky of chauvinism
"No matter how hard Archbishop Mieczyslaw Mokshitsky's secretary tried to justify his leader, it is an indisputable fact that in this case the church hierarch very emphatically took not a church but a political position. Moreover, the one that is paired with the ideology of right-wing radical and chauvinistic Polish parties and organizations," writes Justin Boyko.
"First of all, this concerns the use of the term" genocide "in relation to the events that took place in Volhynia in 1943. Instead of honoring those who are already contemplating the face of God, the Polish radicals and chauvinists are trying to tear up the graves of their ancestors, thereby digging the graves for themselves," he said.
He also stressed that "politicians, especially radicals, are never preoccupied with the truth. They demand blood, because their motto is the belief that if there is truth in the world, then only that which they dictate. Therefore, the use of the term "genocide" in relation to events in Volhynia is purely political speculation, which Metropolitan Mieczyslaw decided to appropriate to himself. "
As the UOJ reported earlier, Met. Mieczyslav Mokshitsky of Lvov RCC believes Ukrainians need to repent for the massacre in Volhynia.
