In Novograd-Volynsky radicals oppose the construction of a UOC church (VIDEO)

On the feast day of the holy righteous John the Warrior, Archbishop Nikodim of Zhitomir and Novograd-Volynsky headed the festive Liturgy near the construction site of a new church of the UOC in honor of the same-named saint in Novograd-Volynsky. The divine service was held in the open air, reports the website of the diocese.

Radically-minded residents of the city assure that the community of the UOC does not have appropriate documents for the construction of the temple and filled the pit in which the cross was to be installed with stones.

The service of the archpastoral rank gathered many young people, children and those who want to offer a common prayer to God for love and understanding between the Ukrainian people, for peace and accord, for overcoming the bloodshed, confrontation and war.

During the service, believers had the opportunity to pray and bow to the icon with a part of the relics of the righteous John the Warrior.

Archbishop Nikodim said the words of a sermon, in which he urged those present to cherish in the heart and boldly confess the true Christ's faith, to stand in it until the last breath, in order to be in eternity with God.
