Pope Francis declares on “full consonance of views” with Patriarch Bartholomew

On June 27 Pope Francis received in his private residence in Vatican a delegation of the Synod of Constantinople Patriarchate, writes Radio of Vatican.

The Pope noted the exchange of delegations between the Church of Rome and the Church of Constantinople on the occasion of the holidays strengthens the desire to restore full unity between Catholics and Orthodox.

He stressed that this unity is already foreseen in brotherly meetings, common prayer and service to the Gospel.

Pope Francis commented gratefully on his previous meetings with Patriarch Bartholomew and laid an emphasis on the "deep consonance of views" on various issues of the life of the Church and the modern world.
