Parubiy сlaims that the church of UOC is located on the Verkhovna Rada premises illegally
The document says that the initiators of the opening of the Holy Vladimir Church of the UOC in the administrative building of the Verkhovna Rada were people's deputies of the sixth convocation Igor Rybakov and Valery Malyshev in 2008.
"The creation of the church within the walls of a secular state institution took place against the Constitution of Ukraine and the Law of Ukraine "On Freedom of Conscience and Religious Organizations". There were no constituent documents on the establishment of a religious organization, as well as approval and permit documentation to re-equip the premises in the administrative building for cult needs," Parubiy said in an official response.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada noted that the solution of this problem requires "painstaking and balanced work" from the religious confession, the chairmen of the factions, the leadership of the Verkhovna Rada, the profile committees and the Verkhovna Rada Apparatus.
Deputy Vitaly Kupriy, who is also deputy chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Legislative Support of Law Enforcement, intends to create an "inter-faith Christian prayer room" in the Verkhovna Rada.
