UOC: The task of Representation in Europe is to tell the world about the religious situation in Ukraine
"The creation of a representative office is quite a natural step, connected with the intention to systematically inform the international community about the position of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church on certain topical issues of the global or regional agenda," Bishop Victor said.
"Many Orthodox Churches have gone this way. For instance, since 2010 the Committee of Representatives of Orthodox Churches to the European Union has been functioning quite successfully. Within the framework of its activities, there are established contacts and discussed issues of interaction between the Ecumenical Orthodoxy and EU governance structures, "the Bishop reminded.
"Our main task is to provide reliable and objective information about the developments in the religious sphere of our country. Quite often, important information can be approached one-sidedly or outside the broad context of existing realities. That is why it is necessary to present our position in an active way", concluded the UOC hierarch.
