Ukrainians outraged at the "order" on the scandalous prayer service of UOC-KP

The decision of the authorities of the Dragomanov National Pedagogical University to send students instead of classes to the "prayer" of the UOC-KP on the occasion of the Teacher's Day at St.Vladimir’s Cathedral was strongly criticized by Ukrainians, writes NewsMir.

People's deputy Vitaly Chepinoga on his Facebook page wrote that in the society where students themselves go to the Maidan, they do not march in line to church. Other users also shared their remarks.

Journalist Daniil Yanevsky expressed his indignation to the rector of the Dragomanov University Viktor Andrushchenko: "Corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Professor, Doctor of Philosophy ... I want to tell you, colleague, you are a moron," he said on the air of the UMN channel.

The head of the student parliament of the Dragomanov National Pedagogical University Irina Sokur said that at the prayer service at St. Vladimir’s Cathedral of Kiev, the teacher marked the absent students, writes "Gordon".

"It was initiated by the rector, important information: Filaret is a member of the Supervisory Board. The rector runs elections on November 1, and in order not to be unfounded, in response to all the hype in the media, the administration decided instead of some specific excuses to publish an order on the website, which wrote: this event is organized by the rector, the administration, and so that the first-year students could have an opportunity to attend it, they are freed from lessons. This was signed by the vice-rectors in charge. Here the problem is the approach of the administration. The Students’ Council notes that it is not against religious activities, but the issue is that students go there instead of classes, and they are not asked if they want to be there," said Irina Sokur.

The rector of the university Andruschenko denies that the students were compelled to go to the temple.

Some students came to the prayer with posters "I was forced to come here instead of classes".
