UN session in Geneva begins to consider violations of UOC believers’ rights

On October 10, the 28th session of the UN Human Rights Council began its work in Geneva. Chairman of the Representation of the UOC to European International Organizations, Bishop Victor Baryshevsky (Kotsaba), and head of the NGO "Public Advocacy" Oleg Denisov will speak about the violation of the rights of UOC believers at the session. Denisov wrote about this on his Facebook page.

"Currently, the preliminary session is being held, during which the head of the Representation of the UOC to European International Organizations, Bishop Victor Baryshevsky (Kotsaba), will report on the problems of the UOC in the events involving diplomats," said Oleg Denisov, the head of the NGO "Public Advocacy". "This year, the enlarged scope of concern to our organization encompasses such states as Switzerland and Argentina. In the latter, there are also cases of seizure of Orthodox churches by representatives of radical organizations."

Over the past two years in Ukraine, about 40 churches of the UOC have been seized by schismatics.
