Vinnitsa officials cross themselves to "holy" Petlyura (VIDEO)

At the ceremony of unveiling the monument to Simon Petlyura, the Vinnitsa officials laid flowers and crossed themselves to the sculpture. The monument was opened on October 14, the day of the celebration of the Protection of the Holy Virgin and the state holiday of the UPA, according to the video published by the "Glavnovosti" resource.

The opening of the first monument in Ukraine to the head of the Directory of the UPR caused mixed reactions across the public. If the nationalists welcomed the event, the Jewish community is indignant, since the Directory troops in 1919-1920 took part in Jewish pogroms during which, according to users of social networks, followers of Petlyura killed from 50 to 200 thousand Jews.
