Lord will make all recognize the autocephaly of UOC-KP, – synod of schismatics
"We believe that the Lord will put all the others in such a situation that, at their will or without it, sooner or later they will recognize the autocephaly of the UOC-KP and join us in eucharistic communion," the address said. "We, the fullness of the Kyiv Patriarchate, regardless of the success or failure of the present attempt at dialogue, should, as it has been so far, preserve the internal unity, develop and establish the Church, serve God and the Ukrainian people."
The synod of the UOC-KP claims that they are "for dialogue – but only for the sake of affirming the truth, and not to please the desires of man."
"What we are ready and want to have a dialogue on? On the cessation of hostility between the Orthodox, on the restoration of communion in prayer and the Eucharist, on the recognition by the Russian Church of the autocephaly of the Kyiv Patriarchate," emphasizes the leadership of the UOC-KP.
Negotiations between the Russian Orthodox Church and the Kyiv Patriarchate, according to the head of the Department for External Church Relations of the ROC Metropolitan Hilarion, were initiated by representatives of "Patriarch" Filaret, which resulted in his appeal to the ROC. Filaret’s letter did not say a word about autocephaly.
A second letter from Filaret was also published, in which the head of the schismatics asked the ROC for autocephaly, but not for the Kyiv Patriarchate, but for the UOC.
