UOC community of Kuty wins a lawsuit for the right to use its temple
A temple of the UOC in the village of Kuty
As a UOJ correspondent reports, the community of the UOC asked to remove obstacles in using the temple seized by representatives of the Kiev Patriarchate.
According to the rector of the community Protopriest Igor Kushniruk, the application was registered by the Ternopol Economic Court on July 10, 2017. However, the proceedings were delayed until the final resolution in favour of the UOC community of another litigation, in which the believers upheld the legality of their documentation for the ownership of the temple.
"We will appeal to the executive service and the law enforcers, so that we will be given the opportunity to have access to our church," says Father Igor.
All the property of the UOC community, collected for twenty years, was left in the temple seized by schismatics. The priest managed to pick up only the antimins, with which services are now held in the private territory.
Together with this, the rector confirmed that his community is looking for a parallel option – the opportunity to rebuild a temple if the believers are not provided access to the church.
The Holy Righteous Anna parish finally won the dispute over the claim of the Kiev Patriarchate, which tried to revoke the competence of the UOC community's documentation to the temple in Kuty, on February 15, 2018. However, the owners of the church are still not allowed to their property by supporters of the UOC KP who have seized it.
