Ukrainian autocephaly is lobbied by Erdogan, – Gordon

President of Turkey with Patriarch Bartholomew

The process of preparing the Tomos on autocephaly in Ukraine is being lobbied by Recep Erdogan, said journalist Dmitry Gordon on the "112 Ukraine" TV channel.

"Tomos is getting ready," Gordon said. "I know who is lobbying it, through whom, and what forces are behind it, to get Tomos, in spite of Russia's resistance." Who lobbies? Including, ironically, Recep Erdogan, on whose territory the Reverend church hierarch is located (Patriarch Bartholomew – Ed.), and he, in turn, is connected with very big men of the world scale, who respect him and ask him to grant the Tomos".

According to the journalist, earlier he has doubted that the Tomos would be received, but now he is sure of it.

Earlier in the media, there was information that Erdogan discussed the issue of Ukrainian autocephaly with Patriarch Bartholomew during the meeting on April 25, 2018.

In June this year, the Turkish President, commenting on the closure of seven mosques in Austria, predicted a "war between the cross and the crescent".
