SLC adherents speak of possibility of assassination attempt on Met. Onufry

His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry of Kiev and All Ukraine

The political expert Viacheslav Pikhovshek considers this publication as a threat to the life of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry of Kiev and All Ukraine. He said this on September 24 in the TV program "The Chronology of the Day" on the "NewsOne" TV channel.

"The bird twittered that Moscow circulates ‘rumours‘ among the clergy of the ROC that Metropolitan Onufry of the UOC MP may soon perish at the hands of a Ukrainian nationalist," says the post of the "Ukrainian Local Orthodox Church".

The authors of the publication state: "This is a very dangerous thing since it shows the possibility of preparing a new provocation by the ROC-FSB and creates an information basis for it. It is the ROC that is able to physically liquidate Metropolitan Onufry, thus providing the basis for another aggravation of the situation in Ukraine and a new wave of "saving the Orthodox population from nationalists". They also recalled the "attempted poisoning" of Patriarch Bartholomew during a meeting with the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church.

"Therefore, Mr Onufry, we ask you to be careful. Take a closer look at everyone who is near you, among them, there may be people capable of such a godless act," says the post.

Political journalist Viacheslav Pikhovshek believes this is an open and obvious threat to His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry of Kiev and All Ukraine.

"I remember very clearly that the fake news about one of the staff members who participated in the organization of the meeting between Patriarch Bartholomew and Patriarch Kirill, connected with a Russian structure, came from here, from Ukraine, from the structure of the ‘Information Resistance‘, somehow related to the deputy Dmitry Tymchuk. A question to the law enforcement bodies: isn’t this where the ‘legs grow‘?" the expert wonders.

"Someone is clearly hinting that the Beatitude is in danger. This is a very dangerous situation," stressed Viacheslav Pikhovshek.

As reported, the statement of the group "Information Resistance" about the attempted poisoning of Patriarch Bartholomew during the meeting with the Primate of the ROC turned out to be a fake.

Earlier, political expert Viacheslav Pikhovshek explained that the renaming of the UOC into the Russian Orthodox Church is an attempt to create an "internal foe" in Ukraine and will become a pretext for harassment.
