Social networks call to celebrate non-existing Tomos on Maidan
Independence Square in Kiev
Today, October 12, on Maidan Nezalezhnosti (Independence Square) in Kiev, an action of Tomos celebration will take place. The information about the event is posted on Facebook today.
The start of the action "Cahors on the Maidan" is scheduled for 19:00. According to the announcement, “atheists, ietsits of the Kiev Patriarchate, Catholics” and others are welcomed to the event. The text also states that although there are still elections for the Patriarch of the Single Church and the official presentation of the document on autocephaly to Ukraine, the time has already come for the holiday.
“Now it is time for the holiday, which the country has been waiting for more than three centuries. Time for Russia's humiliation. Ukrainian pride time. Historical time. Tectonic shift. Creation of the History itself. Now is the time to celebrate. Take friends and a good mood along,” the announcement says
Earlier, President Poroshenko posted on his Twitter a message that the Synod of the Constantinople Patriarchate adopted a “positive decision” on granting the Tomos to Ukraine. Later he edited his post, changing the word "Tomos" for "autocephaly".
As the UOJ reported, on October 11, the Synod of the Constantinople Patriarchate decided to “continue moving towards the Ukrainian autocephaly” and removed the anathema with the leaders of schismatic religious organizations – the head of the UOC KP Filaret Denisenko and the head of the UAOC Macariy Maletich.
