Diplomat: Vatican not to maintain contact with non-canonical Churches
Vatican
It is already clear that the Holy See will not contact with the Church in Ukraine, which Phanar intends to recognize. This opinion was expressed on October 12 by a diplomatic source in the Vatican, reports TASS.
“The Vatican categorically does not interfere in the affairs of Orthodoxy, but it is already clear that the Holy See will not come into contact with the Church that [Patriarch of Constantinople] Bartholomew will recognise,” the agency’s source said.
Earlier, President Petro Poroshenko posted on his Twitter a message that the Synod of the Constantinople Patriarchate made a “positive decision” on granting the Tomos to Ukraine. Later he edited his post, changing the word "Tomos" for "autocephaly."
As the UOJ reported, on October 11, the Synod of the Constantinople Patriarchate decided to “continue to move towards the Ukrainian autocephaly” and removed the anathema from the leaders of schismatic religious organizations – the head of the UOC KP Filaret Denisenko and the head of the UAOC Macarius Maletich.
