Survey of Democratic Initiatives Foundation: SLC should be led by Filaret

Head of the Kiev Patriarchate Filaret Denisenko has repeatedly stated he intends to take the SLC lead

The survey, which was conducted from September 11 to September 16, 2018, attracted 36 experts, who for the most part called the Ukrainian autocephaly more likely a political and geopolitical issue than a religious one, and also positively evaluated the actions of the Ukrainian authorities aimed at obtaining the Tomos. The survey results are published on the official page of the Democratic Initiatives Foundation on Facebook.

The survey participants believe that “in order to avoid conflicts in the transition period”, a “compromise figure” should be at the head of the united church structure. At the same time, the leader of the UOC KP Filaret Denisenko received the biggest score of expert votes (21).

Recall that recently the leader of the Kiev Patriarchate, Filaret Denisenko, once again confirmed his intention to head the Single Local Church and declared that “he must work to the end”.
