UOC Spokesman: Phanar’s recent rhetoric is canonical surrealism

Deputy Head of the UOC DECR Protopriest Nikolai Danilevich

The statements of individual representatives of the Patriarchate of Constantinople that the UOC exists no longer are similar to canonical surrealism. It was said on November 2 to Interfax by deputy head of the DECR UOC Protopriest Nikolai Danilevich, who was commenting on the words of Archbishop Job (Gecha) on the abolition of the UOC by Phanar revoking the act of 1686.

“The UOC is sure that it is 565 years that Constantinople has ceased its existence,” Father Nikolai noted. “This is a historical fact. Yet the Phanar seems not to have noticed this fact.”

He added that the existence of the UOC is a historical fact.

“And it is evident. Therefore, such rhetoric by some representatives of the Constantinople Patriarchate is similar to some kind of canonical surrealism,” concluded Father Nikolai.

Earlier, Archbishop Job (Getcha) of Telmessos reported that the Church of the Moscow Patriarchate no longer exists in Ukraine. In addition, according to the Phanar’s hierarch, all the hierarchs of Ukraine are de facto the bishops of the Ecumenical Throne.
