Arsen Avakov promises to stop any provocations on religious grounds
Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov
The National Police and the National Guard are strong enough to protect any religious institution, said the Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov at 7:55 minutes of the Zrada / Peremoga programme on the Chernovtsy-based “TVA” channel.
“Any situation with militants hired will be stopped. This will apply to right-wing radicals and left-wing radicals, any radicals,” the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs promised.
He added that his agency would “act very tough” even if the offender “attaches a “trident” to himself from all sides, but would commit anti-state things”.
The Minister of the Interior called the creation of the Single Local Church “a matter of choice and philosophy of Ukrainians”, which cannot be “exchanged for immediate political interests”. He also emphasized that the “historical process” of the “unification” of the Churches cannot be used for electoral purposes.
