Poroshenko: Ukrainians have dreamed of Church unification since Rus Baptism
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko
Ukrainians have dreamed of the Church unification for 1030 years, since the time of the Baptism of Rus by Prince Vladimir, Equal to the Apostles. The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said this at a meeting of the Regional Development Council on November 12, broadcast by the 112.ua channel.
According to Poroshenko, Ukrainians and Ukraine should unite.
“This is one nation, this is one Church. And I will do everything possible so that we do not delay with the decisions on the unification of the Church. This is one of those achievements that Ukrainians have dreamed of neither for 27 years, nor 100 years, since our independence, or even 332 years, when Moscovia stole the Ukrainian Church, but for 1030 years since the Baptism of Ukraine-Rus by the Holy Prince Vladimir,” said the President.
Earlier, President Petro Poroshenko said that the Ukrainian Church had previously had the status of autocephalous Local, and now, 300 years later, the process of its re-establishment is underway. Later, the head of state recommended "representatives of the ROC" to leave Ukraine.
