Met. Anthony: Local Churches don’t recognize schism legalization in Ukraine
UOC Chancellor Metropolitan Anthony (Pakanich)
The Bishops' Councils of the Serbian and Polish Orthodox Churches did not recognize the legalization of the schism in Ukraine by the Constantinople Patriarchate, Metropolitan Antony (Pakanych) of Borispol and Brovary, the Chancellor of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, recalled on the “1Kozak.tv” channel.
He hopes that at the end of this year and the beginning of the next year, Bishops' Councils of other Local Churches will also comment on what is happening in Ukraine. In the meantime, the hierarchs of these Churches individually give negative assessments of the activities of the Constantinople Patriarchate in Ukraine, Vladyka Anthony added.
“There are statements by many hierarchs of many Local Churches,” he stressed.
The head of the ROCOR also condemned the Phanar’s act in towards the Orthodox Ukrainians. According to him, the activities of Constantinople in Ukraine "only aggravate discord among believers".
