Meeting of the Synod of the Constantinople Church in Phanar
Archimandrite Michael (Anischenko) was appointed the head of the Constantinople Patriarchate’s stauropegion in Kiev, reports the Greek edition “Romfea”, referring to the communique of the meeting of the Synod of Constantinople Church, held from 9 to 11 January.
Before then, Archimandrite Michael (Anischenko) was the abbot of the Orthodox Church of St. Alypius the Stylite of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Antalya. For a long time, he served in Lutsk and was a cleric of the UOC metropolitan cathedral of the Volyn eparchy. Also, Archimandrite Michael was considered as a candidate for the post of head of the Archdiocese of Russian Orthodox churches in Western Europe.
