Filaret does not show up at Epiphany’s “enthronement”
“Enthronement” of the OCU’s “metropolitan” Epiphany in St. Sophia of Kiev
As it became known, Filaret Denisenko is allegedly undergoing some treatment.
During the official live broadcast of the “enthronement”, it was reported that Filaret was not present at the event due to the health problems, according to the UOC KP spokesman Eustratiy Zaria.
According to the UOJ, the fact that the “treatment” of Filaret coincided with the inauguration day of the head of the OCU is explained by the fact that the former cannot act as a “patriarch” in the presence of representatives of the Constantinople Patriarchate, who take part in the ceremony, but does not want to be an ordinary “metropolitan”.
As the UOJ reported, earlier the abbot of the Vatopedi Monastery Archimandrite Ephraim, who had arrived in Kiev for the "enthronement" as part of the delegation of the Constantinople Patriarchate, was hospitalized due to the heart problems and left Ukraine without taking part in the event.
