OCU delegation not allowed to Panteleimon Monastery on Athos

OCU delegaltion was not able to get to the Panteleimon Monastery on Holy Mount Athos

Today,on  February 9, 2019, the OCU delegation, which is now staying on Mount Athos, headed by "bishop" Pavel Yuristy, decided to visit the Panteleimon monastery.

As the UOJ learnt from its own sources, its abbot, Archimandrite Eulogy, did not let the representatives of the new Ukrainian Church into the monastery, turned them straight from the monastery gates with the words that they are not recognized here.

Earlier, the rector of the Moscow Theological Academy, Bishop Ambrosy of Verey (Yermakov), announced the order of Patriarch of Constantinople Bartholomew that members of the OCU have to visit all the monasteries of Holy Mount Athos. On February 8, 2019, "bishop" of the OCU Pavel Yuristy and his delegation from the new church structure visited the Athos monasteries Pantokrator and New Esphigmenou.

Among Athos keliots and hermits many claim to stop the liturgical mention of Patriarch Bartholomew. Earlier several Athos monasteries declared that they would close their gates if the head of the OCU, Epiphany Dumenko, came to Holy Mount Athos.
