The clergy of the Odessa Eparchy committed requiem services at the sites of mass death of Odessa citizens
On May 2, 2019, the clergy performed a memorial service at the site of the death of the first victims of the May tragedy and on Kulikovo Field, reports the press service of the eparchy.
Early in the morning, Vicar of the Odessa Eparchy, Bishop Diodorus, Archpriest Pavel Poleshchuk of the First Odessa District, and the clergy of the eparchy conducted a divine service and laid flowers in memory of the tragic event on Preobrazhenskaya Street in Odessa.
Later, Bishop Diodorus and the clergy arrived at Kulikovo Field, where on May 2, 2014, in the House of Trade Unions several dozen residents of Odessa were killed. A memorial service was also performed here and flowers were laid at the site of the tragic events.
Bishop Diodorus in his sermon noted that the UOC constantly prays for the repose of those killed in the May tragedy and asks God that peace and harmony should always be in our God-preserved city.
With the blessing of Metropolitan Agafangel of Odessa and Izmail, requiem services are held in all the churches of the Odessa Eparchy for the victims of the tragic events of May 2, 2014.
