On May 23, 2019, with the blessing of Metropolitan Meletii of Chernovtsy and Bukovina, an all-eparchial cross procession in defense of the UOC was held in Chernovtsy. Believers came with posters "We are the UOC", "Spare the Church the political dirt", "Bukovina with His Beatitude Onuphry" and others.
Gathering at the Holy Spirit Orthodox Cathedral of Chernovtsy, the clergy and believers led by the ruling bishop of the Chernovtsy-Bukovina Eparchy walked in a cross procession to the Chernovtsy RSA, where the parishioners of the seized church in the village of Tovtry have been standing in prayer for 6 days.
The press service of the Chernovtsy-Bukovina Eparchy broadcast live from the scene.
As it became known, Metropolitan Meletii, Archbishop Longin of Bancheny, abbots of monasteries and priests of the seized churches went to the governor for negotiations.
The UOJ is monitoring the developments.
We recall that the all-eparchial cross procession and prayer standing at the walls of the Chernovtsy RSA are being held in connection with the systematic violation of the rights of UOC believers.
