At the forum of the Ukrainian intelligentsia "For the Ukrainian Orthodox Church! For the Kiev Patriarchate! ”, which took place on June 11, 2019 in Kiev, Filaret declared that he rejects the Tomos. It is reported by Hromadske.
In particular, the head of the UOC KP said, “We do not accept this Tomos, because we did not know the content of the Tomos granted to the OCU. If we had known the content, then on December 15 we would not have voted for autocephaly. For we do not need to change one dependency for another.”
In addition, he assured that his position is due to his desire to serve Ukraine: “The Moscow Patriarchate serves the interests of Moscow, the OCU serves the Greeks. And who will serve Ukraine? ”
Recall that earlier participants in the alternative forum of the Ukrainian intelligentsia “For the Local Orthodox Church of Ukraine”, which took place the day before, are confident that Filaret acts to the detriment of the Ukrainian state and actually fulfills the request of anti-Ukrainian forces.
