Filaret: The so-called OCU serves the interests of the Greeks

The so-called OCU serves the interests of the Greeks, the “BBC News. Ukraine" information agency cited the head of the UOC KP Filaret Denisenko.

“Epiphany is a servant of the Ecumenical Patriarch. He put the Greek as a vicar bishop so that he could observe and hand over information to the Ecumenical Patriarch to give instructions through him what to do,” Filaret said during the forum “For the Ukrainian Orthodox Church! For the Kiev Patriarchate!”

“BBC News. Ukraine” added that they have their own information, which proves that the Patriarch of Constantinople Bartholomew “unequivocally supports Epiphany” and can apply sanctions in case of “the restoration of the Kiev Patriarchate”.

On June 10-11, while the “Patriarch of Kiev and all Rus-Ukraine” held a forum in support of the UOC KP, “Metropolitan” Epiphany of the OCU went on the saint’s day to Patriarch Bartholomew, stressed the media.

Filaret, meanwhile, said he did not accept the Tomos because he was allegedly not familiar with the content of this document. “We do not accept this Tomos because we did not know the content of the Tomos that we were given. If we knew the content, then on December 15 we would not vote for autocephaly. Because we do not need to move from one dependency to another,” he said.

The head of the UOC KP said that he was convening the “Local Council” of the Kiev Patriarchate. “By this, we will show that the Kiev Patriarchate has been and will be. We convene the Council on June 20,” explained the “Patriarch of Kiev and All Rus-Ukraine”.
