On June 14, 2019, Zbarazh district court susutained the claim of members of the religious community of the Holy Protection church of the UOC in Musorovtsy village, Ternopol Region, and obliged law enforcement officers to enter into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations the data on the illegal change of church locks by the OCU supporters.
“The court has satisfied the complaint, the court’s decision has just been filed with the police, so we are waiting to take the extract (from the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations – Ed.) from the police tomorrow to start a pre-trial investigation,” said the member of the religious community Miroslava Polevaya.
Recall, on June 8, 2019, activists of the newly created religious organization cut off with a grinder the locks on the doors of the Holy Protection temple in vlg. Musorovtsy and inserted their own instead. At about 10 pm, the believers appealed to law enforcement agencies with an application on the fact of unlawful invasion in their temple. A police officer, who arrived at the scene, stated that believers should resolve all disputed issues in court. However, the law enforcement officer could not answer the question about on the basis of which court decision the lock had been cut off in the church.
After 2 days, members of the UOC religious community inquired at the police unit whether the data on their application had entered into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations. A clear answer was not achieved.
On June 11, believers of the canonical Church from the village of Musorovtsy were forced to go to court due to the inaction of law enforcement agencies.
